FAQs
Why should Glass Specialty service my auto glass? If your auto glass is installed incorrectly, you risk your life and the lives of those in your vehicle. In an accident, you and your family could be crushed, experience airbags that won’t protect you, and/or may be thrown from your vehicle. Glass Specialty will make sure your windshield is installed correctly. Glass Specialty installers are trained extensively, exceeding the standards of the national measurement tests. We go above and beyond, requiring extra training and certifications—because it is ESSENTIAL that your auto glass is installed correctly. In addition, we take extra care to follow the guidelines set by adhesives’ manufacturers. And, we educate our customers on dry times, as well as the guidelines needed to ensure safety. We have more than 50 years of experience, 37 convenient locations, and a lifetime warranty on our work. You’ll never regret the decision to use Glass Specialty.
What training do your technicians have? Our technicians must pass Glass Specialty's Certification Program. Our program is more rigorous than that of the National Glass Association. Our installers not only take a written exam, but they also undergo an extensive hands-on training program. In addition, we go the extra mile by requiring our technicians to be certified by the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council (AGRSS), an organization dedicated to the safe replacement of auto glass. You’re in good, experienced hands with Glass Specialty.
Will I only be required to pay my insurance deductible or will there be other charges? You will only be responsible for paying the deductible cost that you negotiated with your insurance company. Most insurance companies will pay the full cost of minor windshield repairs to prevent the crack from spreading and the need for a complete replacement.
Do you offer financing assistance? Yes, we offer two convenient 90-day same-as-cash options. We make it easy, with very brief applications.
Will you handle my billing to the insurance company and scheduling the job? Yes, we work well with insurance companies and will take care of everything for you.
Will you give a written quote for any charges that I have to pay? Yes, and we are happy to explain anything that is unclear.
Do you use Original Manufacturers Glass on all your installations? All of our glass is NT DOT approved and passes national safety standards, the majority is also OEM approved.
Will you come to my office/home to fix my windshield? Yes! Being mobile is an important part of our business, and we'll do our best to come to you. When possible, we will make arrangements with you to get your keys and return them when finished.
Do you offer a lifetime guarantee against leaks and stress cracks? We provide a lifetime guarantee on workmanship for all replacement windshields. This warranty is honored at all 37 of our locations.
Do you offer windshield repair as an option? Absolutely! Repair jobs can help to keep your insurance premiums at the lowest possible level, and we are happy to help! We always suggest bringing your car in for an evaluation as soon as a chip or crack appears. Chips the size of a quarter or less usually can be repaired, but ignoring them can lead to spreading and ultimately a complete replacement. If the repair cracks out later the cost of the repair will be credited to the cost of the replacement.
How long will it take for the adhesive to set up before I can safely drive my car? The adhesive used to bond your new windshield will take up to 24 hours to fully cure. This is important for your safety, so while we can often do same-day replacements, we will make sure you have all of the necessary safety information.
